The Making of a Mentor Meeting
The purpose of the mentor meeting is to prescribe one cohesive code for all mentors and provide guidelines and regulations for the program. In the mentor meeting, the Administrative Director should make sure to review:
4 Easy Steps to Making of a Mentor Meeting
1. Provide copy and review Code of Conduct for your school or organization. Review the Men of Determination Program Mission and Purpose: Directors train each mentor to assist students in developing academic success, a positive attitude, self-discipline, respect, and responsibility. Each mentor will provide students with academic support, study strategies, and a mentor support system.
2. Provide a copy and review MOD Monthly / Extracurricular Activity Dates for the year. Ask mentors to volunteer and attend at eh least one monthly meeting that year.
3. Provide a copy and review MOD Weekly / Instructional Activity Dates for the year. Ask mentors to volunteer to serve at least once in one department for the year: Showcase, Activity, Service, or Step Team
4. Determine what students will be accepted into the next round of mentee selection based on Speed Interviews. All mentees should be assigned to a mentor. That information should be recorded into the MOD Data (Excel) Sheet. That information will be needed for the Acceptance letter.
