Presentation for the Parent Meeting
At the same time that the Speed Interviews are being held the Parent Meeting should also be scheduled, and held in another room in the same building, This means there are 3 places in the building being used right now! One room is where the students are being interviewed, another room is holding excited students waiting for their turn, and the third is for the parents to meet and greet. This is the beginning of us showing our families that we want to get them involved and excited about the success of their students. We want them to believe their child was selected to be a part of a program that will develop them into accountable, respectful, educated member of the community.
We share with our families our mission, purpose, research, activities, and strategies. We provide them with the supports system they need to enable them to define and obtain individual goals, improve character, academic and social skills.
4 Easy Steps to Pumping Up the Parent Meeting
1. Provide refreshments that are waiting for families that arrive for Speed Interviews/ Parent Meeting
2. Give each prospective family a newsletter with the MOD Monthly Activity Dates for the year. Families will need this information to plan for the family's attendance at engagements.
3. "Partner in Education" Presentation: Sharing info primarily on : Mission, Purpose, Research, Strategies, Activities, etc.
4. Provide a volunteer sheet. Several parents will be willing to offer their time if nothing else to support and be a part of the program.
